Scope

Turkey Thicket Park is located in the heart of the Brookland neighborhood in ward 5 of the District. The primary focus behind the design concept for Turkey Thicket was the integration of the large park area and playground into the existing recreation center while including features such as community garden space, a splash park, and an ADA accessible playground.  Other goals of the design included improving accessibility to and from the various functional spaces. STUDIO39’s design replaces the track around the adjacent field and improves transitional pathways from active and passive recreational areas.
