Scope

In coordination with the Commission of Fine Arts and adjacent landowners, STUDIO39’s scope for the Watergate Hotel renovation includes two vehicular drop offs, a complex below grade ballroom extension, restaurant terrace, and rooftop amenity. The design of the ballroom extension required a balance of engineering and design, largely solved with flowing topography and planted slopes. Throughout construction, design decisions were related to existing conditions discovered.

Condé Nast Traveler named the rooftop bar, Top of the Gate, the 2nd best rooftop bar in the Unites States.
