Scope

Located in Rockville, MD on the former site of the Bureau of National Affairs and within the Great Seneca Science Center Corridor, the project offers a greener housing option to a community dedicated to healthcare and medical research.  The project boasts sustainable landscape elements such as a green roof on each of the two buildings, rain gardens and permeable paving that decrease the need for traditional storm water management and native plantings that consume less potable water and create a sense of place. Two mid-block pedestrian thoroughfares and a public plaza award the site a park like feel, while a majority of the parking is housed in two garages concealed within the massing of the buildings. Private amenities such as a pool, fire pit, outdoor kitchen and exterior lounge style seating provide many opportunities to gather outdoors.
