The Galaxy, located in South Silver Spring, proposes three high-rise condominium buildings to be constructed above an underground parking garage that will expand the entire site area. The design team worked with the county during the thematic development of the project to establish a unique public art component. An Art Walk is proposed along the alley at the northeast border of the site that will host three permanent art installations by local artists. A public park with a terraced lawn , and landscape light display will provide passive and active recreation for both the public and private residents of the development. A private roof terrace above the garage is proposed as well as an extensive greenroof system atop the highrise.
