Located in Old Town Alexandria, Ford's Landing is built on the site of an old Ford Motor Company manufacturing plant that was on the National Register of Historic Places. The site's eight acres are built atop fill and pilings along the banks of the Potomac River. The design of numerous pedestrian gathering areas and linkages to the linear boardwalk is reinforced with a high level of brick detailing.
