Liberty View Ribbon Cutting

On Thursday, May 18, 2017, at 10 a.m., local dignitaries, county staff, historic preservationists, and real estate developers cut the ribbon on Liberty View, a new urban village that will be home to single-family residences and loft-style apartments, and 138,000 square feet of commercial space.

Liberty View represents the first phase of a public-private project to redevelop the historic core of the former Lorton Reformatory. The 80-acre reuse area is the final piece of a land development puzzle that began in 2001 when Fairfax County purchased 2,300 acres from the D.C. Department of Corrections.
