H Street Connection demolition begins

07.21.2016

STUDIO39 was part of the design team for a new development that will soon take the place of H Street Connection, at 901 H St. NE. The new development will be a mixed use building replace the strip mall that is currently on site.

“The new project on the H Street corridor will offer 44,300 square feet of retail, 419 apartments and 435 parking spaces. Other features include a rooftop pool, an indoor vegetable garden, three outdoor living rooms, and numerous terraces and balconies.”

Demolition of H Street Connection began with a ceremony yesterday, with DC Mayor Muriel Bowser beginning the razing of the building herself. There were many development team representatives and members of the public in attendance at the event, all excited for the future development of this site.
