Sedona and Slate Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

06.24.2013

STUDIO39 joined Arlington County officials and others Wednesday morning at a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Sedona and Slate in Rosslyn. The Rosslyn area is quickly becoming a model to surrounding areas with its emphasis on sustainability, and building a sense of community through parks and urban art. This modern and sustainable mixed-use community consists of two buildings situated just three blocks from the Rosslyn Metro station. The community is the first residential development in Arlington County slated to earn LEED Gold certification. It is also a prime example of a successful mixed-income community, with 12% of the units designated as affordable. Sedona, is finished and currently 70% leased, while Slate is still being constructed. Once completed the buildings will also hold 10,000 square feet of retail space.

STUDIO39 was responsible for the street scape design as well as the main courtyard, which is accessible from the street. The courtyard connects both buildings, and gives the two a sense of community.
