Holiday Season Officially Underway with Gingertown: Gingerbread Collaboration with a Cause

12.06.2013

Studio 39 and many other Washington-area design, real-estate, and building firms put their skills to the test in a not so ordinary project this holiday season. Started in 2006, Gingertown is an annual event held in Dallas, Nashville, and Washington, D.C.  by David M. Schwartz Architects that celebrates creativity in design and execution while also bringing cheer to those in need.  On Wednesday, D.C. area firms gathered to build a masterful Gingerbread town comprised of over 50 structures including buildings, parks, and streetscapes.  Studio39 was honored by the request to design and build the multiple parks for this sweet village. Now on public display for 3 days, Gingertown will soon be divided into pieces and dispersed to local hospitals to be put on display.
