Gingertown 2016

12.21.2016

Earlier this month, a team from STUDIO39 helped to design and construct two green spaces for this year’s Gingertown DC. The theme for this year was Gingertown London.

We designed a large park, Cadbury Square and a smaller roundabout. The main feature in Cadbury Square is a fountain with a sculptural base made of – what else – Cadbury Eggs! The feature of the smaller roundabout space is a Shakespeare statue.

Thanks to all of our team members who worked diligently to put together a couple of great park spaces for Gingertown London!

“Founded in 2006 by David M Schwarz Architects, GINGERTOWN is a one-of-a-kind holiday initiative that brings together the leading architects, engineers, and contractors in the DC area with building enthusiasts – young and old – to create a town made completely of ginger bread. And, it’s all for a good cause.

The hand crafted structures are donated and put on display at local hospitals, health care facilities and community support organizations to help spread the message of joy and hope during the holidays.”
